End of the Semester Reminders!
- Our exam: Monday, January 28, 9-1 PM
- Intensive week assignment due date: February 12
- Informal reading assessment due date: March 4 (first day of classes)
- Content area clearance - ongoing through the semester break on our forum
December 31-January 1:
- Learn your lines from the poem Dearest Creature. You don't need to memorize them - just be able to read them at our poetry slam
- Download and bring the informal reading test
- Please bring your time sheets in!
- No journals until the end of the year other than the four you will write for your intensive week project.
December 24-25:
- Journal - a description and your thoughts and then wait as long as possible and take a re-look at it. Read it as if you hadn't written it. Write at least an additional paragraph at what you now see. This can be something you now notice, an insight into why you chose this particular incident , etc
- Please download and bring to class the Learning Strategies Worksheets and Dearest Creature.
- Write a text that is for emerging readers. Have it either work on a certain set of phonic rules or on global reading. Post it. On Sunday, go online and comment on two other students' work.

December 17-18:

December 11:
- There is no journal this week if you didn't teach!
- Make sure you bring the words you want to plan with and the Oxford Style Analysis with you.
- Have a great vacation and enjoy First Aid!

December 3-4:

November 26-27:

- Just as a reminder, I sit in the English Center on Mondays from around 1PM - 3 PM and Tuesdays, 6:30 AM - 8:15 AM and 11:15AM - 1:30 PM. I am available to go over your journals with you at those times. Please take advantage of this opportunity to improve your English. I am also happy to just chat! Coffee and tea can be purchased at the low price of NOTHING!

November 12-13:
- Reminder AGAIN: Monday, November 19, Group Observation. You will have to be at the College early - the bus will leave at 7:30 AM SHARP! Please make arrangements to be able to this. Please make sure you know how to get to Shorashim! Those meeting up at Shorashim should be there at 8:15. Bring a notebook to take notes, snacks, and the food item you agreed to bring for our lunch,
- Read the readings I have put up about Edyth Geiger, The Galil School etc.
- Journal - a description and your thoughts - then wait... on Friday you will get an email from me with two questions. The best way to do things is to write your journal and have the most time you can before you look at and answer the questions. The journals are due in my mailbox on Sunday morning at 9 AM - descriptions and answers to the questions.
- Presentations start next week! Bring what you need... you never know when it is going to be your turn...
November 5-6:
- Reminder: Tuesday, November 13, ETAI conference all morning at Oranim. We will meet there. Six of you have signed up for the bus back to the College for afternoon classes.
- Reminder: Monday, November 19, Group Observation. You will have to be at the College early - the bus will leave at 7:30 AM SHARP! Please make arrangements to be able to this. Please make sure you know how to get to Shorashim!
- Journal - due in my electronic mailbox Sunday, 9 AM - another description of something that happened in school this week. Bring it with you in hard copy to the College on Monday.
- Read the online article on presence.There is another article called What the Dog Saw which is not mandatory but VERY interesting!
October 29-30:
- Journal: Write about something you observe in class this week. Send it to me by Sunday, November 4 and also bring it in hard copy to class.
- Read: Textbook: Bridge or Wall?
- Read through the National Curriculum
- Read the Lesson Plan Guide
- Send an email to orli at kassiff@gordon.ac.il Send her the following information:
- your cooperating teacher's ID number
- your coooperating teacher's home address
- the name of your school
- the school address
October 22-23:
- Journal: Who am I as a Teacher? Send it to me via email with your name and Journal1 on the subject line, as the name of the attached file, and at the top of the file itself. Due: Sunday, October 28, 9 AM.
- Get a full schedule for your cooperating teachers and observe the first week, teach one activity the second week, and prepare a full lesson by the third week.
- Please read bothh syllabi (methodology and practice teaching) for Monday, October 29. Bring your questions to class!
